Quilt Size and Bed Size

A question that we get many times is, "how will the quilt fit my bed?" The quilts we sell come in three sizes: twin, full/queen and king. How the quilt will look on your bed depends on the mattress size, mattress thickness and the height of your bed. The only one of these that has set standard sizes is the size of your mattress.

Mattress size measurements are as follows:

• King mattress 76" X 80"
• Queen mattress 60" X 80"
• Full mattress 54" X 75"
• Twin mattress 39" X 75"
• (Cal. King 72" X 84" and Twin XL 39" X 80")

Our quilt sizes are as follows:

• King size quilt 108" x 92"
• Full/Queen size quilt 90" X 92"
• Twin size quilt 66" X 86"

On a king size mattress, our King size quilt will have a 16" drop on each side and 12" at the foot. On a queen size mattress our Full/Queen quilts will have a drop of 15" on each side and 12" at the foot. On a full size mattress our Full/Queen quilt will have a drop on each side of 18" and 17" at the foot. On a twin size mattress, our Twin size quilt will have a 13" drop on each size and 11" at the foot. (The quilt drop is measured from the top of the mattress.)

Mattress/box spring thickness and bed height vary from bed to bed and can affect how the quilt will look on your bed. So the only way to have an idea how it will look, without having the quilt, is to measure your bed. Also, the drop of a bedskirt is measured from the top of the box springs (bottom of the mattress).
